2/27-28 全家，九份、礁溪、桃園大圳之 Geocaching

難得的 228 連假，又是晴朗的好天氣，就計畫來去找幾個偏遠的 Geocaches。只是這三個剛好一個在北、一個在東、一個在西，一圈下來，讓我們全家這兩天的假期也是一整個累呀。

Later after we dried the cache under sun, we found the old log book is at another bag. So we took away our new log book, and resign it at the old one.

Arrived in real dark, that we forgot to bring any flashlight with us. Fortunately, my wife's keychain having a LED attached with it.

Unbelievable, thanks hkw0704 for the hiking cache.

We really underestimated the cache, that when we began our climb, it was already 2:30 p.m. I made a bottom line, that we will turn back at 17:00 p.m. Fortunately, we made it just few minutes before it. What a day!

No. 3 Tunnel - Ancient canals series
Wow, unbelievable!

Actually, this is our 2nd try to the cache. The first time, we went to the exist of No. 3 Tunnel. After taking a scan to the place, we don't think we could find the cache without a correct GPS coords. And after came back to home, I kept wondering how could a Traditional cache like this. And after looking for information on the internet, I realized the cache is at the other end of the tunnel.

This time, we came prepared. We have Ryan's pictures as our guide. So, even without a GPS coords, we have a rough idea where the cache is. But what we didn't expected is the view near GZ.

When we approached to the canal, we saw the water flow is very massive. And when we walked on the No. 2 water bridge, we were stunned by the height of the bridge and the rumble sound of water which getting louder and louder.

Thanks to cyclingtaiwan, this cache really reminded me what geocache is.

3 "water" marks - Ancient canals series
We found the 3 "water" marks, and we have a very detail search to the cache. But we didn't find the cache.

As the No. 3 Tunnel, the search of GZ is really exciting and fun. First, we broken into a construction area for bike lane. Then we unlocked a iron gate to near a water control center. Finally, we open another iron gate to walked around the control center to approach the temple. What we done, is kind of exciting me. I felt like a thief.

After we saw the 3 "water" marks, I was so happy. I thought another cache should be found without a problem. However, after 30 minutes of detail search, (we almost uncovered every rock near the marks), we could not find it. So I decided to call todofang-san. Thanks to him, he was at Japan, but still give me a SMS for hint. I decided to call Jing-san for more detailed hint. Thanks to his detailed answer, we have kind of confidence that the cache should be gone. So we decided to call it a day.

Thanks cyclingtaiwan, are you a guy working in Water Resources Agency? We are really wondering how could you know such place in Taoyuan. These two caches are just too much fun.
